Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's masterpiece creation Sherlock Holmes and his crime solving adventures with his friend-partner Dr. John Watson has now been re-imagined for UK television with the name 'Sherlock'. I have been a big Sherlock Holmes and Watson fan since high school when we were first introduced to literature and ever since then grabbed every copy of their epic adventures. So upon seeing the mere name "Sherlock" I new there and then that my expectations were not about to be put down.

BBC's Shrelock recreates the adventures of Sherlock Holmes and his partner-sidekick Dr. John Watson in a modern London setting. When you see skyscrapers, cellphones, laptops, and cars then you are sure that you are on a different universe but rest assure the most crucial parts like the criminals, the crime itself, the characters that you appeared on almost all of the series, and the deductive powers and characteristics of Sherlock Holmes that made him the popular crime fighting icon is pretty much preserve.

Benedict Cumberbatch portrays Sherlock Holmes while Martin Freeman as Dr. Watson. The very first episode "A Study in Pink" which has been taken form "A Study in Scarlett" is where Holmes and Watson first met and in this modern adaptation of their adventures. Characters like Mrs. Watson, Lestrade, and Mycroft makes their first appearance in this one hour and forty minutes premiere telecast over at BBC and luckily I was able to watch it. If you ask me, this amazing first episode premiere seems like a movie itself. Being a big Holmes fan I can proudly say that they are off to a good start as they seem to perfectly portray on a what-if universe... what if you take the adventures of Sherlock Holmes to a modern 21st century setting? What you get is the visually stunning, acted, written, and directed BBC series Sherlock.
