Globe further raised the bar when it comes to mobile internet technology by launching the commercial roll out of 4G mobile technology. 4G is a high speed broadband technology that allows subscribers to improved and faster online connectivity through their mobile devices. With better multimedia uploads and downloads; faster streaming, and high-speed web browsing are all covered with Globes new Evolved High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA+) Network.
Globe has already started establishing with its aggressive campaign of leaving its 4G footprint nationwide by providing WiMax (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) services. There are now over 1,500 sites in nearly 60 provinces across the Philippines (covering 365 cities) which includes Dasmarinas, Bacoor, Imus, Tanza, Calamba, Batangas City, Cebu City, Cagayan De Oro, Manila, Caloocan, Cainta, Antipolo, Taytay, Plaridel, Cabanatuan, and Zamboanga. By the end of 2011 Globe expects to be the leading 4G service provider in the Philippines.
I for one am a gamer and a fan of mobile blogging. I have tried carious mobile activities (downloading apps, uploading media, blogging, surfing) via 3G technology before and it wasn't that good. I have been hearing a lot about the 4G technology being a great improvement over the previous technology. Being the curious person as I am, I might try it anytime soon to attest to its claims. 4G is the hopefully the best thing that will come to mobile internet access in the Philippines, and with Globe leading the campaign, we can assure that it will not let us down.
