A Citizen's View on The Preposterous House Resolution 2140: Philippine Politicians Asked Not to Be Portrayed as Criminals in Films and Television Programs

A news about the House Resolution 2140 filed by Pampanga Representative Aurelio Gonzales Jr. made me both laughed my hearts out and scratched my head in dismay.

Pampanga Representative Aurelio Gonzales Jr. filed the House Resolution 2140 which aims to appeal to the local television and movie industry to "minimize, prevent, or stop typecasting congressmen and congresswomen as villains or crooks in movies and television telenovelas, in order not to create stereotypes or negative public perception against members of the House of Representatives."

How the Filipino Public Perceive the House of Representatives of the Philippines

There is no doubt that media has both direct and indirect influence on how most Filipinos view our "honorable" and "reputable" politicians. It is also natural to feel bad when one is called something that he is not. It has been like that from the moment you are born and will still "be" on the last moments of your life. Given the two points, we can say that it is only natural for a politician to somehow and sometimes feel pain when being stereotyped as a corrupt official when they are really not. So how can they get away with this negative image? Well, the House Resolution 2140 seems to address that issue.

The problem with the bill is narrowing it down to the entertainment industry, mainly television and film. I don't think that the Filipino people are that "dumb" to be able to state that Philippine politicians are corrupt because they saw a portrayal of one in a telenovela, or a film? Think about it, if the Filipino people indeed thinks that almost every politicians are committing acts of graft and corruption, would you honestly think that they would let it pass? Would you think they would participate in the electoral process? In some strange way, the Filipino people are still hopeful that the politician they entrusted with their votes will be responsible with the duty assigned to them, to make and improve laws that would benefit the Philippine people. So it is absolutely wrong to underestimate the intelligence of the people that because they saw an action film starring the Fernando Poe, Jr. out to take his vengeance on a corrupt congressman and his goons means that congressmen and women are also corrupt.

So why does the Filipino people still thinks of them as corrupt?

It is part of human nature to associate everything, stereotype things, and even discriminate. Given two or more factors, then a person would usually make his conclusion on to something. When all we are exposed to are isolated but numerous news reports about politicians being involved in criminal activities, then that is more than enough to make the impression that they are corrupt. Not to mention reports that they are not properly doing their jobs right but still are getting paid for. Just think of it, they are there to work but then you see empty seats in congress, then here they are receiving their regular salaries? Given that their salaries might get reduced if not put on hold because of unsatisfactory attendance in the house, most of them are still receiving their "pork barrels" which are the main source as to why people doubt their credibility and accountability. As long as there are questionable projects then this image of corrupt officials would never go away.

Questionable Intentions and Priorities

There are more important laws than the mere preservation of the image of our dear "reputable" congressmen and congresswomen. I am not a law expert, but know a thing or two about the Philippine constitution, and I believe that politicians can draft new and relevant laws and improved on existing laws filled with highly exploitable loopholes rather than making up with such absurd house resolutions or bills. How about passing the pushing and enacting the Freedom of Information Bill? Seeing that politicians prefer making laws to protect the welfare and image of a selected few (themselves) rather than the people itself, it makes you question their reliability, intelligence, and capability as a government elected official.

Rather than House Resolution 2140 how about giving more attention and priority to House Bill 3732 Freedom of Information Bill?

The funny thing is that that the representatives who filed and supported the said resolution knew that it will have a conflict with the constitutionally-guaranteed freedom of speech and of expression, and that they can only "appeal" to the entertainment industry. Once this news hit the social networks, where I personally found this, the said resolution has already received negative review from the outspoken Filipino netizens (as seen on the comments section of the news source I stated above), by the Philippine entertainment industry (headed by the MTRCB), and people just against any forms of censorship.

Another interesting fact is why come up with such trivial resolutions now? I haven't seen any film or television programs portraying politicians as criminals, not that I am aware of. Is it because the Philippine film industry plans to resurrect the action film genre which is famous for its portrayals of corrupt politicians as its main antagonists? If that is the case, then bravo to those congressmen who filed this resolution, you now became the part... the villain to the revival of action film genre.

House Resolution 2140 No More Politician as Villains to Filipino Films and Telenovelas FPJ Eddie Garcia

Men and women in power are perfect villains to most films and telenovelas. This is probably why antagonists are often portrayed as corrupt politicians, generals, rich businessmen, or just stupendously rich people, and the protagonists are the victims of these greedy, evil corrupt villains.

Let's say that there currently ARE television dramas that use politicians as its main antagonists, so what? Let us say that in some twist of fate this resolution gets enacted as an actual law, will it stop people from perceiving them any other way. I strongly believe that it won't. If not, it would probably fuel the people to speculate even more; be more suspicious about our dear politicians censoring the creative freedom of the entertainment industry. People has affiliate people censoring or hiding the truth as people who has something devious to hide. People will then be more curious, more feisty and hungry for information, keeping an even closer eye to the once secret lives of our dear politicians. The Filipino mass then will depend on the news which is far more harsher than the actual truth. They can never censor news so their efforts on putting a lid on the entertainment industry will be the reason for people to doubt them more. Well, at least in telenovelas and films people will have a face to refer to. When the main protagonists triumphs over the said corrupt official, then it only proves that good always triumphs over evil; giving people the impression that corrupt politicians will someday pay for their crimes. But I don't think that it would be enough reason for a Philippine television and film audience will think of their local Representative in the same manner, unless there are reports or rumors inciting that the person might be so.

What-If Scenario

Let's just imagine that this gets enacted to an actual bill. What would happen next? There are honestly so many professions which can used by the Philippine entertainment industry as a villain to their films or telenovelas. Heck, there have even be actual films and television dramas that used doctors, teachers, office workers, supervisors, managers, etc. as their main villain. If the House of Representatives can ban the entertainment industry from portraying politicians as criminals, then the more reason that the common profession to demand to do the same. I can now imagine the Cojuanco empire asking for Hacienda owners not to be portrayed as oppressive villains in a film about Filipino farmers and their struggles. Are you ready for an action film starring a congressman who was framed and is out on a vengeance? Well, heck yeah that sounded like an interesting premise for an action film, but whoelse would the film's main villain? Another politician, that's impossible because of the LAW. Oh, how about an evil general? Well, no can do, he is still considered as a government official and if the position isn't listed on the law, then the Philippine Military and Constabulary would just ask for a similar law to be enacted... You know, to protect their image!

This is my opinion on this said news. I personally don't know or has any connection to Pampanga Representative Aurelio Gonzales Jr., he might have even drafted and co-authored a few House Bill and Resolutions, but this is just plain absurd. It is on the same level of absurdity as the Anti-Planking Bill. This news just compelled me to blog for I believe that through new media via blogs, we can freely exercise our constitutionally-guaranteed freedom of speech and of expression. Our opinions expressed and our voices heard. If in some weird way, my message reach these politicians, hopefully they keep an open mind about such criticism for them to become better public officials, and that is what this country needs the most.

What about you guys? What's your reaction to this news? Share your thoughts about the House Resolution 2140 on the comments section below:

The First and Last Philippine Premiere Screening of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2: A Decade of Magic Comes to a Conclusion

The Philippines is one of the first few countries to first see the epic finale for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 before it officially comes out on July 14, 2011. Yours truly got the privilege to be invited to such screening by the wonderful folks at Warner Bros. Philippines, and all I can say is I was both excited, thankful and blessed to be able to watched the epic finale of the film series I grew up with in glorious IMAX Theater 3-D!

philippine entertainment and movie bloggers at the Philippine premiere screening of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 at the IMAX Theater SM Mall of Asia July 12, 2011

After a decade of following the story through a span of seven films, the story of "the boy who lived" has finally ended tying all lose ends in this second part for the Deathly Hallows. It is both the first and last of Harry Potter in the Philippines as the President of Warner Bros. Philippines said before the Philippine premiere screening of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 in the IMAX Theater SM Mall of Asia. First in the sense that it is the first Harry Potter film to be completely in 3-D (or converted into one) and first that the Philippines is one of the selected countries to first see the film after UK; and last in a simple sense that this is the conclusion to the Harry Potter film franchise.

What also add up to the already spectacular film experience brought by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is the crowd and my fellow bloggers. It is always fun to talk to people with similar interest and passion. We talked about what would be the next Harry Potter film. Will it be a sequel, prequel or a highly improbable remake? That and many film, blogging and geeky stuff. But once the film started rolling it seems like we all barely knew each other as it is a rule of thumb to just sit back and enjoy the film.

If you have followed all seven Harry Potter film which started back at 2001. Man 2001! I was already at my teenage years back then and this sure is one of those film that will go along the ranks of Lord of the Rings, Last Castle, and Toy Story, my favorite films of all time. Definitely check out Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 in theaters nationwide by July 15, 2011.

The Last of Dirty Harry - I Mean Harry Potter

Just a few hours from now, yours truly will be able to watch the epic conclusion of the similarly epic story of "the boy who lived, Harry Potter. I am not really a book person so I have no idea how it would all wrap up, and I want it to be that way. Don't wan to be spoiled as well so I have stopped myself from listening or reading any spoilers.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

It has been what? Ten years? Man, ten years. We literally see this boy grow from that innocent child to the now bad ass and dirty-looking Harry Potter. Just look at all those scars, wounds that he got since his first scar on his forehead. I would like to keep this short as I am getting prepared for it. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 will officially be out in theaters nationwide by July 15, 2011. For anyone who grew up watching this film series, it is a no-brainer...they will watch this epic finale. Myself included. Will get back on reviewing films after this film.

A Look Back on the The King's Speech (Film Review)

Not everyone has the luxury to watch every film that comes out in theaters these days. I for one am one of those individuals. That plus the fact that I pick only watch movies under the genre that I like. That doesn't mean that I don't watch drama, family or feel good movies, I just feel like they are better off to be seen at home. That is why for everything else I go with various DVD film releases.

One specific film that gained my interest is the The King's Speech which has won various wards and critically acclaimed by critiques and movie audience alike. This is why I couldn't help but try it out. Here is my review on The King's Speech.

the king's speech

The King's Speech tells about the story of King George VI and his unlikely ascension to the throne. On a time of war, a king's voice is the only thing that people can count on to give them renewed hope and courage and this is the challenge that the new King face. Prince Albert, Duke of York (played by Colin Firth) who eventually became King George VI has speech problem, specifically stammering. He has sought the best speech doctors he and his wife knew but all failed to treat his speech problem, that is until he met a very unorthodox speech therapist in the character of Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush). It tells how to people of completely different social classes became friends and helped each other during a time of great crisis. A pretty straightforward historical drama but very powerful performance. If you have missed it on theters then get it on home video.

Awesometastic 3-D Sequel: The Philippine Red Carpet Premiere of Tron: Legacy

A little while back yours truly, together with various Metro bloggers attended the Philippine red carpet premiere of Tron: Legacy over at the IMAX Theater in SM Mall of Asia. One of the last but definitely not the least, biggest 3-D film of the year will hit major cinemas nationwide today December 17, 2010. So why not end the weekend with a digital bang with Tron: Legacy.

Filipino entertainment bloggers at the red carpet premiere of Tron Lrgacy on IMAX Theater SM Mall of Asia Philippines

It was a reunion of sort for most Metro bloggers as they populate the IMAX Theater in SM Mall of Asia for the Tron: Legacy premiere. Like what I've said earlier it is one of the biggest 3-D film of the year. I have seen the original 1982 Tron film a three/four months ago and was really excited to see what Walt Disney can bring to the table on a classic title which seems to haveended back in 1982. Not really a big surprise it was really good. As seen in various film trailers and being able to see some of its selected scenes (20 mins.) of Tron: Legacy back at Tron Night last Octobe, the hype surrounding Tron: Legacy is just right for the film delivered in flying neon orange, black, blue and white colors.

You can check out my full written film review for Tron Legacy over my updated spoiler-free movie review blog here:

Closing In on the Final Chapters: A Look on Voldemort in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Harry Potter is one of those film series which you have to stick around from start to finish, even if it has to mean that you will be waiting years for the next sequels. Harry Potter will finally conclude in an epic two part film where the boy who lived shall faced that who should not be mentioned.

I am pretty excited to see how the first film shall leave us hanging at the edge of our seats, only to be excited and craving for the second and last part set to be shown a couple of months after that cliffhanger. I am thankful that I haven't read any of the original Harry Potter novels or spoilers (believe me it can be tempting sometimes) as it will take away some elements of surprise on the film. I am just glad I didn't.

Harry Potter 7 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

The last few Harry Potter movies have shifted to a darker tone which focused more on the return of Voldemort and the final battle, but what do we know about Voldemort? Here is a little sneak peak of the infamous master villain in the first part of the final Harry Potter film. Don't worry no spoilers.

VOLDEMORT HUNTS DOWN HARRY IN “DEATHLY HALLOWS, PART 1”

In Warner Bros.’ “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” -- the seventh and final adventure in the Harry Potter film series told in two full-length parts -- Lord Voldemort is on a mission: to end the life of “the Boy Who Lived.”

Harry Potter 7 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Director David Yates says, “Voldemort is on the cusp of absolute power. He’s been hiding in the shadows, biding his time until he could come back and impose his will on the rest of the world. Everything else in his master plan has come together; he just needs to deal with this one tiny detail. Voldemort doesn’t understand how this ‘child’ has become his strongest adversary, but he does know he must be the one to kill Harry Potter. First of all, it was destined and, secondly, there is the sheer satisfaction of it after being thwarted so often. It’s beyond personal at this point.”

Ralph Fiennes, who is virtually unrecognizable in the role of Lord Voldemort, says that his character is “driven by a deep rage. The only thing that fires him up is power and more power—the ability to control, to manipulate and to destroy people. It’s his addiction.”
Yates remarks, “Ralph is very scary when he’s playing Voldemort. He has the capacity to tune into some very dark places as an actor; you can literally feel the temperature in the room drop as he inhabits the character.”

Harry Potter 7 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

The Death Eaters regard the Dark Lord with a mixture of reverence and fear, knowing he needs little provocation to turn on even his most loyal followers. If they need a reminder of that threat, it is there in the companion always at Voldemort’s side—and the only living creature Voldemort treats with actual tenderness—the great snake named Nagini.
Voldemort has summoned his most elite Death Eaters to Malfoy Manor to plan when, where and how to ambush Harry Potter. The last to arrive is Severus Snape, played by Alan Rickman. Snape informs those assembled when Harry will be leaving his Privet Drive home, warning them that he will be “given every protection” by the Order of the Phoenix. Nevertheless, Fiennes states, “Voldemort believes he is finally going to defeat Harry Potter. He is enjoying his rule, emperor-like.”

However, Voldemort has discovered that he cannot kill Harry Potter with his own wand. He has extracted from wand maker Ollivander (John Hurt) that his and Harry’s wands are “twins,” possessing the same core and thereby robbing them of their power against each other. In a voice dripping with thinly veiled malice, he suggests that Lucius Malfoy have the “honor” of giving up his wand to Voldemort.

Harry Potter 7 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Jason Isaacs, who again assumes the role of Lucius Malfoy, says the loss of his wand may be only the latest comeuppance to befall Lucius, but it is, by far, the worst. “To take a wizard’s wand is to completely undermine him, and not only does Voldemort take it, but he also snaps off the snake head—a flashy, personal family adornment—and flings it on the table like a piece of dirt, which emasculates Lucius in front of all the other Death Eaters. Lucius had always been an incredibly vain and arrogant peacock; he’d always assumed he’d stand with Voldemort as his right-hand man. But after being broken by prison, after Draco failed in his mission to kill Dumbledore, and after this public humiliation, he has no idea what the future holds for him…if he has a future. All-in-all, a just reward.”

Harry Potter 7 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1” will be released worldwide starting November 18, 2010, and “Part 2” starting July 15, 2011.

Jam-Packed Ice Age 3 TriNoma Digital Cinema Screening Event

July 02, 2009 (Thursday) - Yours truly signed up for the bloggers spreadsheet for the screening of Ice Age 3 in TriNoma in North Edsa and was excited because of (1) it is a movie event, and (2) I'm going to be back in blogging events. So here is my fun-filled unforgettable experience in Ice Age 3 shown in TriNoma's New Digital Cinema....

Stage for the TriNoma Ice Age 3 Pre-Screening Program

ice age 3 media premiere on trinoma digital cinema

What is this Digital Cinema anyways? Read the rest below to find out what's this new movie experience Trinoma has in store for all movie goers...

The day starts with me getting all worked up with this movie premiere because this will be the start of my being active again to blog events after that somewhat bit long hiatus last June. As schedule conscious as I was I left for Cavite at around 3:00 in the afternoon which still still took me until 5:30 pm on the road which got me a bit worried because according to the spreadsheet the events starts at 6:00 and I was still on the train (MRT) that time but thank goodness I made in time. I wandered around until Az sent me an sms telling me where the show is which I think I missed while I was wandering around (how clumsy can I get at times wahahaha). Finally saw this large are where new and old media starts to populate.

ice age 3 premiere pass in trinoma digital cinema screening and press kit

After the small hassle I finally got my media pass and premiere ticket for the Ice Age 3 premiere

I encountered a small problem upon checking my name on the list of bloggers who signed up, my name somewhat was missing in action which was a shock really because all the while I know I signed up for it so was really surprise (and believe me I will not trek all the way from Dasmariñas Cavite just to gate crash and new that I am not welcome). I'm no gatecrasher so this bothered me, thank goodness Azrael saved my neck and talked to the right people but later this was resolved as I confirmed my name on the list and they probably forgot to enlist some of the registrants on paper (which is still odd). After which I felt a bit troubled but managed to get my drive and mood back as other bloggers and popular faces starts to arrive....

One popular cosplay icon in the Philippines has also attended the Ice Age 3 premiere, Alodia Gosiengfiao. It is my first time seeing her in person for I have only seen her in various anime blogs, websites, and anime-related magazines. So basically I was a bit star-strucked because of her beauty and title but immediately snapped out of it and managed to take a picture of the very lovely Miss Alodia Gosiengfiao, Philippine's Cosplay Queen.

Monsters VS Aliens - A Monsterrific First IMAX Experience

March 26, 2009 (Thursday) - Got a message from my plurk through Az, asking me if I am available to go see the DreamWorks' MONSTERS VS ALIENS movie at the IMAX Theatre ot SM Mall of Asia, and I said a strong "YES, I can!" or was that "YES, I am!"?

chris a. movie review for monsters vs aliens

It was around 4:00 pm that time and that got me a bit worried because of the expected traffic that probably and will awaits me. So I immediately hurried up and got on the bus at around 4:40 pm in the afternoon and as expected a heavy traffic got on the way. I am a big movie and animation fan so I will not miss out on this this IMAX Theatre first. I was really worried because by 6:45 I am still on the bus but is already a couple of kilometers away from SM Mall Of Asia. I was hoping that I could still catch the beginning of the animated film and luckily I did. And here is my movie review of Monsters VS Aliens.

movie bloggers at SM Mall of Asia IMAX Theatre for Monsters Versus Aliens

As much as possible I would like this movie review be spoiler free so here goes. The story begins with a California girl Susan Murphy and her seemingly perfect life and will soon be married to a "devoted" news anchor named Billy, until a large meteorite called the "Quantonium" plummeted down on the soon to be bride. All was seemingly okay after that event as she rose from the rubles with just a ruined and stained dress. In her wedding day, after she "walk the isle" and she suddenly glowed in neon green which later made her hair turned all white and finally growing as tall as 49-feet 11 inches. Out of nowhere, military guys appeared and tranquilized the ginormous white hair Susan.

Monsters VS Aliens Movie Review Philippines

She soon wakes up at a confinement where she met the four monsters which the government has secretly hid with conspiracy an other blah blahs, an area so secret that the mere saying of its name is deadly (You'll know what I'm saying when you see the movie). The first monster was the gelatinous and indestructible B.O.B. who has no need for a brain; the brilliant yet mad scientist, Dr. Cockroach, PH.D (-Insert mad scientist laugh here-); The macho half-fish, half-ape Link or the Missing Link; and finally the 360-foot grub who link can only communicate with, Insectausaurus.

Monsters VS Aliens screenshot bob and susan scene

Susan Murphy's name was change to a new "scarier" monster name... Ginormica, well because she's ginormous hehehe. After a few months of confinement, they were later given the opportunity to be free once they save the Earth from destruction by beating the Alien Robot sent by a not so intelligent life form named Gallaxhor. How where they able to defeat the Aliens? What happened to the "love story" of Susan and her soon to be husband? Can the monsters soar to new heights? You can only know the rest of the story once you've seen the awesome animated movie.

I highly recommend this movie, and will give it a four thumbs up if I am like Insectausurus. As I recalled I first saw some posters and trailers of Monsters Versus Aliens, and my first impression was that Monster VS Aliens is not going to be a good animated movie but after seeing it on an IMAX Theatre (which is also a first to me) I appreciated the dedication of the production, the plot, the graphics, the acting, and the lesson of accepting what one truly is and capabilities are, and the value of friendship regardless of the appearance and what other people might say against you.

The idea of a spa and a movie rolled into one is a great idea for friends, couples, and families. I specially recommend and support this world class relaxation haven. I am a big movie enthusiast and I share this special interest with three of my best friends and I imagine relaxing in the Spa Theatre while we talk and throw inside jokes at each other, criticize the movies plot, characters, actors (their performance) and many more. Well, of course this is me playing with my imagination again but will sure love to try it for real.

I believe it is a great venue for a more slow-phased and relaxed bloggers get together because they are not just enjoying a good movie and socializing, but also the relaxation of what a spa has to offer.

With all the stress of school and work, I think it is about time to pamper yourself with a nice spa movie experience. For more inquiries, contact and visit the Blue Water Day Spa

"DAYO sa Mundo ng Elementalia" The First Filipino Full-Length Digital Animated Movie Premiere Night

First of all, I would like to give thanks to my good friend Azrael for including me to the premiere night of the first Filipino full-length digital animated movie "Dayo sa Mundo ng Elementalia"

Azrael at dayo sa Mundo ng Elementalia movie premiere at SM Megamall cinema 10

Kudos to you my friend

Well, my quest or "pagdayo ko sa Dayo" from Dasmariñas Cavite to SM Megamall is a path filled with long hours of traffic. The road to Manila is bustling with vehicles inducing a heavy traffic. This time I've anticipated the traffic, so after i received a plurk from Gab asking me to what time will I leave for SM Megamall (venue for the Dayo movie premiere), upon reading that plurk, I immediately fixed and readied myself and at exactly 2:55 I was on the Bus going to MRT station in Pasay.

A Dasmarineños Route To The Metro

Dasmariñas, Cavite to SM MegaMall EDSA, Ortigas Center in Mandaluyong City Route

Here is me again acting oh so wise (even though I'm not) to guide my fellow Dasmarineños and fellow Caviteños the quickest (as far as I know of) and safest (I hope so) route from Dasmariñas Cavite to SM MegaMall EDSA, Ortigas Center in Mandaluyong City. First of is to ride a bus heading to Pasay MRT/LRT Station (You won't miss it, unless you are waiting at the wrong lane). Drop off at the MRT Station. Avail a MRT train ticket going to Ortigas Station (It is the quickest route but you have to endure the rush of people using the train as well). From Ortigas Station it is just a couple more walks until you reach SM Megamall and Ta-Dah! You are there.

I arrived at SM Megamall at around 5:00 in the afternoon so that calculates to an approximate two hours of travel time via the bus and train from Dasmariñas to Mandaluyong. I read Azrael's direction in my phone to where will the Dayo sa Mundo ng Elementalia premiere will be and saw it after a couple of floors and ride at the escalator. After seeing the venue I continued to Megatrade Hall 2 for the 3rd Toys and Collectibles Christmas Fair 2008 or Toycon event where Azrael is, and man! There sure are lotsa toys ranging from the cheapest 3 for 100 and as expensive at 5000 to 10000 Pesos worth of toys (I haven't seen nor asked if there are other toys which costs way more beyond that because I'll just drool over them hahaha). I scour for toys in the 3 for 100 section toys which is highly possible for my kind a job and living (hahaha) but failed to find the right toy for me so in the end I ended up window shopping and drooling over toys and other collectibles at the 3rd Toys and Collectibles Christmas Fair 2008.

Az later bids farewell to his friends at Toycon because of the Dayo sa Mundo ng Elementalia premiere. We got down over at cinema 10 and saw a horde and almost a stampede(oh well, i guess i am exagerating a bit too much hehehe) of movie goers excited for the premiere of the the first Filipino full-length digital animated movie Dayo sa Mundo ng Elementalia

short program in dayo premiere

While we wait for the stars to come to stage and for the premiere a small program was conducted which features some trivia questions and interesting facts about the movie Dayo sa Mundo ng Elementalia. My two friends Ada (http://www.adaphobic.com) and Carl (http://thewebmagazine.blogspot.com) joined the trivia question. Go bag em all bloggers! Hahaha but what about the kids? XD

We eventually went in Cinema 10 to reserve some good seats for a nice view of the movie. After some time Az, Monique, Carl, Monchst, Sire, Trixie and Azrael went out to grab some "grub" which took them some time which I later found out was because of the stars arriving at the Stage and some celebrities and Philippine television faces.

Getting pumped up at Dayo

Minutes away from the actual premiere of Dayo. After some short program and games for the kids, the suspense and long wait is finally over. Here comes Dayo sa Mundo ng Elementalia.

Dayo sa Mundo ng Elementalia Over

Prrrrtttt!!!! The movie is now over with me and Az going out with the movie goers who just saw the first ever full-length Digital Filipino animated movie (and I couldn't emphasize the "first ever full length Digital Filipino animated movie" even more hahaha). What's missing? Uh, yeah, the actual movie. How was it like? Well, all I can say is you go watch it this coming December 25, 2008 at your local cinemas or you may go to other blogs and spoiler websites to find out more about the story hehehe.

Christopher Aquino at Dayo sa Mundo ng Elementalia Premiere

This was after we went out cinema 10... and nope i was not in shock hahahaha. I am waiting for my friends to finish up taking photos of the crowd and the celebrities.

Bloggers in elementarya

After the movie we went two more floors to accompany Az to bid farewell to his colleagues at the Toycon. Before we went there, we saw these "cute" Winnie The Pooh and Tigger Photo-Op corner and decided to fool around with it. hence The Bloggers are transported from Elementalia to "Elementarya" hahaha.. because only kids from elementary or elementarya are fond of Walt Disney characters (or I could be wrong) Hahahaha

It was a fun day together with my fellow Blogger plus the fact that we are the first people to watch the first full-length digital Filipino animated movie "Dayo sa Mundo ng Elementali"
