SM Megamall Cinema 3 was already packed with film fans, press people and fellow blogges. Minutes later, I already have in my hands the all-in-one movie access and reward card, the e-PLUS card.

I haven't been into any events lately, luckily there are familiar faces in the local blogging scene at the event.

The event concluded with a screening of Battleship which was by itself an already entertaining sci-fi action treat for the e-PLUS card launch attendees. I can almost see myself swiping and using the e-PLUS card like crazy as I am a big film fan. So do yourself a favor, if not for the rewards and discounts, well at least try the SM Cinema e-PLUS card to avoid the long lines created by blockbuster films on its first day or week of screening.

Awesometastic 3-D Sequel: The Philippine Red Carpet Premiere of Tron: Legacy

A little while back yours truly, together with various Metro bloggers attended the Philippine red carpet premiere of Tron: Legacy over at the IMAX Theater in SM Mall of Asia. One of the last but definitely not the least, biggest 3-D film of the year will hit major cinemas nationwide today December 17, 2010. So why not end the weekend with a digital bang with Tron: Legacy.



It was a reunion of sort for most Metro bloggers as they populate the IMAX Theater in SM Mall of Asia for the Tron: Legacy premiere. Like what I've said earlier it is one of the biggest 3-D film of the year. I have seen the original 1982 Tron film a three/four months ago and was really excited to see what Walt Disney can bring to the table on a classic title which seems to haveended back in 1982. Not really a big surprise it was really good. As seen in various film trailers and being able to see some of its selected scenes (20 mins.) of Tron: Legacy back at Tron Night last Octobe, the hype surrounding Tron: Legacy is just right for the film delivered in flying neon orange, black, blue and white colors.

The Philippine IMAX Premier Screening of The Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole

It has been a while since I last attended events, but last night Sptember 22, 2010 I didn't missed out the opportunity to see the Philippine IMAX premier screening of Warner Bros' The Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole in SM North Edsa IMAX Theater. Here is my initial two cents and experience with one of the years best animated 3-D film, The Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole.



I have my eyes set on the Legend of the Guardians for quite some time since I first saw its teasers on youtube, and theatrical trailers later on some screenings I also attended. My expectations weren't turned down as the animated film about Owls is shot in stunning 3D. Since it was an IMAX premier, the experience was enhanced by ten folds.



I won't spoil the film for you, but let's just say that it is an easily recomendable movie for all ages. It has an epic feel to it ala Lord of the Rings, as an unlikely band of creatures travel to great distance to a escape evil, only to find themselves later becoming the heroes that will vanquish that evil. That isn't much of a give away, as it would be such a disappointed if ever they fail right? The film will bring out the laughter, the caring brother or sister, the heroism, the pride, the pains of losing someone, and the hate in you. Humor plays a great part in the film, and take it literally when I say you will be hearing owl jokes in this film. The film is stunning in 3-D as I keep telling you guys. I will make a more in-depth review about the film later on my movie review blog.

Legend of the Guardians - Not Just Another "Fowl" Movie

Thanks to Warner Bros. Philippines and SM Cinema for this opportunity to see one of my most anticipated 3-D movie of the year. The Legend of the Guardians is a perfect movie for everyone. The Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole will be out on all SM Cinemas by September 24, 2010. It is best experienced in 3-D, so if you have the opportunity go see it in IMAX Theaters nationwide.

First Interactive Cinema in the Philippines! A Teaser Indeed!

Yours truly is a big movie enthusiast and everytime I hear a buzz regarding movie experience innovation I can't help but to get excited. SM Cinema has already brought a brand new digital experience with their IMAX Theatre and this April 2010 SM Cinema will unveil the most interactive cinema experience ever!



Still shrouded in mystery with only this photo which serves as a teaser for this new interactive cinema experience from SM Cinema, one can't help but speculate what could be in store for movie goers and enthusisats.

What would SM Cinema's first interactive cinema in the Philippines be like? A timely release for an upcoming digital blockbuster. There is only one way to find out and hopefully CMABLOGS will be there to witness this latest movie innovation form SM Cinema.

Alice in Wonderland Philippine Digital Premiere and Pinoy Movie Blogger

March 03, 2010 was the official Philippine movie premiere of Walt Disney and Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland and yours truly (plus one, my brother) was there, together with the rest of the Metro bloggers. I will also introduce my new movie review blog which I named Pinoy Movie Blogger.





I invited my brother to watch the Philippine digital premiere of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland in SM Megamall in Ortigas. Actually I asked a couple of girls to watch with me but eventually was turned down because of their work and the drive back to Cavite, so I ended up asking my brother to accompany me. It is his first time to see a movie in 3D so I am a bit excited for him (but the IMAX Theatre is a still the best choice if you are to watch 3D movies).





After leaving from Dasmariñas City at around 4 in the afternoon we managed to arrived at SM Megamall at around 6:30 which is just right for the ticket says screening starts at seven but as usual it was moved until 8:00 pm.







The quality of the photos are a bit shaky and poor because I used my cellphone to take some snapshots of the premiere. The rechargeable battery has reached its limits plus my digital camera is already busted. Hope it could still be fix.

I was also reunited with some of my Metro blogger acquaintances and was secretly happy because they commented that I am gaining weight (my target this year). After chatting for a short time we decided to proceed to the cinema. After handing us the 3D glasses we found a nice spot on the upper area of the theater and waited... and waited, until the hosts arrived to start off the premiere.



Eventually there was this raffle game and luckily my ticket number was drawn and so I was able to claim a t-shirt printed with Alice in Wonderland text with the image of the 10/6 Mad Hatter hat at the back.



We finished the movie and was entertained with its overall visuals and story but my review will be seen in my new blog which you can visit later. After taking some group pictures together with fellow bloggers we called it a night and went home. I believe it was around 12 midnight when we arrived home... and now my review and my movie blog...



I am the Pinoy Movie Blogger

I have always been fund of watching movies (aren't we all?) and finally after quite some time I have finally managed to make a blog dedicated to my favorite past time which is watching movies. May they be on the big screen or official movie DVD/CD/Blu-ray Disc if I am in the mood to watch a movie (which is most of the time I am) then I will do so. If only I can share my sentiments and opinion about the classic and new movies that I've watched and this is where Pinoy Movie Blogger comes in. Alice in Wonderland Tickets and Avatar at SM North Edsa Plus Texas Roadhouse Grill Dining Weekend

On March 4, 2010 one of the most anticipated movie of the year will be shown in theaters all around the Philippines, Alice in Wonderland. Yourstruly was invited to be one of the people to see the premiere screening of Alice in Wonderland in the Philippines this coming March 3, 2010. So here is my adventure that February 27, 2010 as I left Cavite and travel all the way to SM North Edsa to get those prestigious Alice in Wonderland Digital Cinema premiere tickets.



I left for Cavite at around 3:00 in the afternoon after a visit to my goddaughter. I arrived at SM North Edsa at around 4:00 in the afternoon. There was a small photo op booth set up in front of the IMAX Theater in the second floor of the SM North Edsa. Enthusiasts and passers-by were given the chance to take pictures with the Alice in Wonderland Cosplayers after they have subscribed and followed SM Cinema's Facebook Fan Page. The SM Cinema people handed me two premiere tickets for the March 3, 2010 Premiere of Alice in Wonderland. Shelly clarify that Alice in Wonderland will be showing at all SM Digital Theaters and at IMAX North Edsa but not in IMAX Mall of Asia. Oh well, too bad for the movie goers near SM MOA, but I guess they will make a way to screen it eventually.





I was guided inside the IMAX Theater in SM North Edsa to experience the ambiance of the prestigious and popular movie section of the mall. Lucky for me I haven't actually seen Avatar in IMAX so I took the leisure of watching it in SM North Edsa's Digital Cinema in the IMAX Theater. I can't believe that James Cameron's Avatar is still being screened at SM North Edsa Digital Cinema together with Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. all great movie peeps!





After finishing Avatar and taking snapshots around the SM North Edsa IMAX Theater area I decided to drop by the Texas Roadhouse Grill in Ortigas Center. You can see last year's blog event here:

This time (all alone again) I ordered Wrangler's Pork Steak, Watermelon Shake, and Mango Cream Delight. A complete meal itself, I find myself full and satisfied with these delectable Western-based cuisines:

Finally, after that I went home to deliver the good news that I still have an extra premiere tickets. My sister immediately nabbed the tickets but too bad for her she has a work that day so my brother will accompany me on the movie premiere of Alice in Wonderland in March 3, and will be released all throughout the country by March 4 on all SM Cinemas.

Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince IMAX Premiere in SM Mall of Asia Experience

July 15, 2009 (Wednesday) - Yours truly was invited in one of the most anticipated movie of the year, the sixth installment of the Harry Potter movie series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince which is premiered on the IMAX Theater in SM Mall of Asia.





The day started with me leaving for Cavite at around 4:00 in the afternoon and by 5:30 arrived at SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City and saw Cath along the way and join Ria for a mud pie cake delight at T.G.I. Fridays. We were later joined by Ryan and had a couple of talk.

Finally we arrived at the venue where cocktails were served and met up with other invited bloggers at the Harry Potter 6 screening. After some chit chat we were directed to proceed to the IMAX Theater to watch the much anticipated movie. IMAX 3-D glasses were handed out and got ourselves a nice seat for the movie.

The emcee told us about that the seventh movie will be released next year in two parts. The first part of the Harry Potter 7 Deathly Hollows (Hope I got that right) will be shown at around November of 2010 and the second part will be on July 2011. After that news, the movie started to roll and we braced ourselves for an amazing Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince IMAX 3-D experience (Well, the first few parts to say the least. See it for yourself at the nearest IMAX 3-D Cinemas near you).



Will make a movie review soon on my movie blog which has now been buried with so many movie back logs but will soon make it active. All I can say is that the movie left me hanging but the 6th movie is an essential part of the progress of the film for this is where you're doubts and suspicion will finally be answered (if you have followed the Harry Potter movie series).
