I rushed to the e-PLUS Card Lunch event as soon as I left the office. Luckily I wasn't late to for anything big. SM Megamall Cinema 3 was already packed with film fans, press people and fellow blogges. I first filled up the necessary forms and showed the necessary identifications for my e-PLUS Card to be processed. Minutes later, I already have in my hands the all-in-one movie access and reward card, the e-PLUS card.

I haven't been into any events lately, luckily there are familiar faces in the local blogging scene at the event.

The event concluded with a screening of Battleship which was by itself an already entertaining sci-fi action treat for the e-PLUS card launch attendees. I can almost see myself swiping and using the e-PLUS card like crazy as I am a big film fan. So do yourself a favor, if not for the rewards and discounts, well at least try the SM Cinema e-PLUS card to avoid the long lines created by blockbuster films on its first day or week of screening.

The Philippine IMAX Premier Screening of The Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole

It has been a while since I last attended events, but last night Sptember 22, 2010 I didn't missed out the opportunity to see the Philippine IMAX premier screening of Warner Bros' The Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole in SM North Edsa IMAX Theater. Here is my initial two cents and experience with one of the years best animated 3-D film, The Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole.



I have my eyes set on the Legend of the Guardians for quite some time since I first saw its teasers on youtube, and theatrical trailers later on some screenings I also attended. My expectations weren't turned down as the animated film about Owls is shot in stunning 3D. Since it was an IMAX premier, the experience was enhanced by ten folds.



I won't spoil the film for you, but let's just say that it is an easily recomendable movie for all ages. It has an epic feel to it ala Lord of the Rings, as an unlikely band of creatures travel to great distance to a escape evil, only to find themselves later becoming the heroes that will vanquish that evil. That isn't much of a give away, as it would be such a disappointed if ever they fail right? The film will bring out the laughter, the caring brother or sister, the heroism, the pride, the pains of losing someone, and the hate in you. Humor plays a great part in the film, and take it literally when I say you will be hearing owl jokes in this film. The film is stunning in 3-D as I keep telling you guys. I will make a more in-depth review about the film later on my movie review blog.

Legend of the Guardians - Not Just Another "Fowl" Movie

Thanks to Warner Bros. Philippines and SM Cinema for this opportunity to see one of my most anticipated 3-D movie of the year. The Legend of the Guardians is a perfect movie for everyone. The Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole will be out on all SM Cinemas by September 24, 2010. It is best experienced in 3-D, so if you have the opportunity go see it in IMAX Theaters nationwide.

Day One Recollection of The First LetsGoSago Anniversary Surfing Clinic in La Union: Part Two "Chris A. Gone Surfing"

Last August 15-16, 2009 (Saturday to Sunday) yours truly attended the first anniversary of Jonel Uy's LetsGoSago in San Juan Surf Resort in La Union. This is Part two of day one and this is the time I gone surfing.



After changing into my "surfing gear" I joined some of the bloggers who already decided to take a dip and enjoy the fresh (scorching) morning beach. I asked a fellow blogger Omar for a favor to take photos of me surfing which I am thankful about.





Moments later I saw a group of surfers and bloggers crowding up meters away from us and then that is where I recalled that I was assigned to the first batch of surfers. Our group proceeded to their location and met Jonel. He reminded me that I should join the first batch, which I later did.

The class started with Luke Landrigan (surfing professional and extraordinaire) teaching us the basics of surfing which is pretty simple when you looked at it but way different when you are actual doing it (just like first time biking).



Upon seing the rush of "surfing waves" you should paddle...



and push yourself up the board landing both your feet on the moving board. Take balance and stand with partially bent knees, straight back, and properly position feet and finally ride the waves.

That looks easy enough I thought and he directed as to our individual surf coaches whom given us and thought as the actual surfing drill. They also taught us individually the safety precautions to take when surfing. After the trainers saw that we are ready we then went on to try the real thing.



As beginners we were given over-sized surf boards, which measured at around seven feet and once we are at a right distance from the shore, our trainers will wait for the right waves and push us and the rest is up to us. So let's see...

Standing and woops! Failed attempt number one... This is not the right way to stand and control your balance on the surf board.



Another failed attempt to surf as my feet was not properly positioned on the surfboard which causes the unequal distribution of my weight on the board. The result? The sinking of Japan I mean another failed attempt of surfing.

I believe after half an hour I got the hang of it and stopped giving my trainer a headache. This is the only good shot of me properly riding the waves:



Finally I learned how to surf and now acquired a beginner class badge on surfing ahahaha.

It was definitely a blast (of salty waves hehe) and was another memorable first experience for me. I would like to thank my trainer for being very accommodating and patient with yours truly.

Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince IMAX Premiere in SM Mall of Asia Experience

July 15, 2009 (Wednesday) - Yours truly was invited in one of the most anticipated movie of the year, the sixth installment of the Harry Potter movie series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince which is premiered on the IMAX Theater in SM Mall of Asia.





The day started with me leaving for Cavite at around 4:00 in the afternoon and by 5:30 arrived at SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City and saw Cath along the way and join Ria for a mud pie cake delight at T.G.I. Fridays. We were later joined by Ryan and had a couple of talk.

Finally we arrived at the venue where cocktails were served and met up with other invited bloggers at the Harry Potter 6 screening. After some chit chat we were directed to proceed to the IMAX Theater to watch the much anticipated movie. IMAX 3-D glasses were handed out and got ourselves a nice seat for the movie.

The emcee told us about that the seventh movie will be released next year in two parts. The first part of the Harry Potter 7 Deathly Hollows (Hope I got that right) will be shown at around November of 2010 and the second part will be on July 2011. After that news, the movie started to roll and we braced ourselves for an amazing Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince IMAX 3-D experience (Well, the first few parts to say the least. See it for yourself at the nearest IMAX 3-D Cinemas near you).



Will make a movie review soon on my movie blog which has now been buried with so many movie back logs but will soon make it active. All I can say is that the movie left me hanging but the 6th movie is an essential part of the progress of the film for this is where you're doubts and suspicion will finally be answered (if you have followed the Harry Potter movie series).

Jam-Packed Ice Age 3 TriNoma Digital Cinema Screening Event

July 02, 2009 (Thursday) - Yours truly signed up for the bloggers spreadsheet for the screening of Ice Age 3 in TriNoma in North Edsa and was excited because of (1) it is a movie event, and (2) I'm going to be back in blogging events. So here is my fun-filled unforgettable experience in Ice Age 3 shown in TriNoma's New Digital Cinema....

The day starts with me getting all worked up with this movie premiere because this will be the start of my being active again to blog events after that somewhat bit long hiatus last June. As schedule conscious as I was I left for Cavite at around 3:00 in the afternoon which still still took me until 5:30 pm on the road which got me a bit worried because according to the spreadsheet the events starts at 6:00 and I was still on the train (MRT) that time but thank goodness I made in time. I wandered around until Az sent me an sms telling me where the show is which I think I missed while I was wandering around (how clumsy can I get at times wahahaha). Finally saw this large are where new and old media starts to populate.



After the small hassle I finally got my media pass and premiere ticket for the Ice Age 3 premiere

I encountered a small problem upon checking my name on the list of bloggers who signed up, my name somewhat was missing in action which was a shock really because all the while I know I signed up for it so was really surprise (and believe me I will not trek all the way from Dasmariñas Cavite just to gate crash and new that I am not welcome). I'm no gatecrasher so this bothered me, thank goodness Azrael saved my neck and talked to the right people but later this was resolved as I confirmed my name on the list and they probably forgot to enlist some of the registrants on paper (which is still odd). After which I felt a bit troubled but managed to get my drive and mood back as other bloggers and popular faces starts to arrive....





There were nice drinks and snacks provided for everyone in the pre-screening show...



One popular cosplay icon in the Philippines has also attended the Ice Age 3 premiere, Alodia Gosiengfiao. It is my first time seeing her in person for I have only seen her in various anime blogs, websites, and anime-related magazines. So basically I was a bit star-strucked because of her beauty and title but immediately snapped out of it and managed to take a picture of the very lovely Miss Alodia Gosiengfiao, Philippine's Cosplay Queen.

Mascots always have an effect to children and movie enthusiasts alike which TriNoma "let loose" in the pre-screening show.

..and of course yours truly will not let this past as I take the chance to take a photo with Scrat and Scratte mascots for the Ice Age 3 premiere.

After the pre-show we were all directed to TriNoma Digital Cinema Cinema, Cinema 4 to finally see the much awaited third sequel of the popular Ice Age 3.

4D Summer Blogger's Event in Enchanted Kingdom - Reliving the Magic

June 04, 2009 (Thursday) - It has been a couple of days since I last have the spirit to post my past bloggers event but now I am back (again) with renewed blogging spirit and more Phillipine bloggers event coverage and here is one of the event that rendered me incapable of blogging in the past weeks (probably with overjoy and exhaustion) ladies and gentlemen my take on the 4D Summer Blogger's Day at Enchanted Kingdom...



This Enchanted Kingdom Bloggers Event happened last May 10, 2009 (Sundayday). Yours truly got invited to the list of bloggers who will try Enchanted Kingdom's latest features like the 4D Discovery Theater and the Magicalympics.



The day started out with me living early from Cavite to go to the rendezvous point for the bloggers at SM Makati at the Parking Area 4 in front of Intercontinental Hotel. After some waiting I think I'm one of the first to arrive because by 8:00 I was already there versus the 10:00 am call time (It's better early than never, so to speak). Most bloggers were still recuperating from the blast they had the day before that from the iBLOG 5 Summit at UP Diliman which I failed to attend to. After ensuring that almost all the bloggers were already there the EK (Enchanted Kingdom) people gave us a go sign to board the van heading back to Region IV Laguna.





At around 12:15 pm the van arrived at Enchanted Kingdom in Sta. Rosa Laguna. After some picture taking at the front entrance of the popular amusement park in Laguna the bloggers then entered the registration areas where the "tools" needed for the days event where handed out...





Yes, yours truly already wored and was all geared up for Enchanted Kingdom Magicalympics. This is me singing "I'll never gonna dance again..." some twisted inside joke from the Controversial Hayden Kho and Katrina Video Scandal Hehehehe

Our first stop was the newest Enchanted Kingdom attraction, the 4D Discovery Theater which feature Journey To The Center of The Earth in 4D and when they refer to it as 4D we never knew that the experience will be "that" realistic. Realistic in the sense that we could actually feel the water or air that is being shown in the 3d movie screen (everything is perfectly synchronized which makes it four-dimensional). A promising new attraction in enchanted Kingdom that is worth trying.



This is outside the 4D Discovery Theater in Enchanted Kingdom with me goofing around at the dinosaur replica from The Journey To The Center of The Earth film.

After that we were directed to a restaurant inside Enchanted Kingdom to have our lunch. We passed by some nostalgic rides along the way and could not help but to take pictures of them...



Enchanted Kingdom's Space Shuttle too bad it was closed for the day but maybe we were lucky it was.



Enchanted Kingdom's Wheel of Fate brings back those high school field trip memories

Finally we ate lunch and presented with the days agenda and an activity for the bloggers. Enchanted Kingdom now offers team building activities like the Magicalympics which is a series of activities ala Amazing Race using the park's local rides. Each teams were given individual colors, and ours was orange. A short game to set the mood of the game was played where each team should pick an animal to represent their teams. After choosing what animal, they must use a sound their team's animal to call other teams. The team must call the other team's animal sound twice which in return the receiving team will shout their team animal sound thrice and later calling twice the animal sound until the next team. Our teams animal sound was "WAAAH!!!" (Feel the Thunder!) from Po of Kung Fu Panda. Well after that energizing game we headed outside and the firs tasks were given.

I focused more on the game so I left the picture taking to the rest of the orange team. so there are no pictures of the actual Magicalympics but will make a separate entry on how did the event went.So let me hit the fast forward button to proceed to the last part which is the awarding of the winners.

After that final event we were given a free time to try out more rides until the last event which is the fireworks to mark the end the event. Me, Jori and Azrael decided to try out the very relaxing and majestic Wheel of Fate.

We rejoined some bloggers at the roller blades mini roller coaster ride of Enchanted Kingdom. We repeat the rid two more times before going to Eldar's Tent for the Theater Play there.

We passed some couple more attractions and took some photos and snacks before going to Eldar's Tent for the play...










We arrived at Eldar's Tent with the play almost half way finish. The play for the day was entitled Journey to Another World Enchante' Under the Sea.
