The Social Network Vault - An Archive of Anything and Everything Viral and Phenomenal on Social Networking Websites

Facebook is "the social networking website" where anyone can everyone can hang out, share their thoughts, and socialize with each other. With so many people in one's network, one fb post can easily be flushed down in a matter of minutes. Has it ever happen to you that you have this one particular fb post that you wanted to looked at again but then you cannot because of the many activities you have already done that flushed it down your memory (you have posted, liked newer posts, and have forgotten which date did you liked it)? Well, this is what I will try to remedy with the Social Network Vault here in CMABLOGS.

The Social Network Vault is just a more permanent and stable archiving vault where I can once again look at any social networking posts that I have found very interesting, funny, scary, thought-provoking, phenomenal, disturbing, and many more. You may share my fascination with these viral images, videos or mere status updates, or you may not. This is just my personal archives. What matters is that whenever I wanted to laugh my arse off on one particular post I liked days, months, and even years ago I'll just go to the social network vault section here in my blog (www.cmablogs.com) and check them out again. Well, you can also do this same thing in your individual blogs, for everyone has different taste or preferences. Most people I know in various social netwoking website (including myself before this post) has addressed the issue of these favorite posts getting flushed down into oblivion by simply saving these vital images and create an album where all their fave pics go. The Social network Vault is just my version of that. At first I thought "Fizzer, sounds like that old Filipino company that has brands to treat wounds" but then again it is a completely different thing. I think this is a promising website since it is developed here in the Philippines and tends to focus more on the Filipino-based users I can also see it as a promising and effective media for advertising locally (for businesses and organizations that is). Facebook's New Homepage Layout for 2010?

I have seen various plurks and twits regarding the new Facebook layout but I don't usually go on wild with these buzz until I have seen and experienced it myself, and guess what that is what recently happened.



This info is seen on top of the Feeds section of your Facebook homepage signifying that your account has been upgraded to this new look and feel.

I have logged in at around 4:30 in the morning February 09, 2010 to check the status on the facebook game I am currently playing, entitled Three Kingdoms Online and was a bit surprise to see this new layout. I immediately plurked this which was later responded by some plurkers in my network saying that their facebook's homepage haven't change a bit. I thought to myself that they shouldn't worry and that it is just a matter of time before everyone using the most popular social networking site has adapted this new lay out.

I had a friend online at this hour and said that the new facebook layout sucks, so I suggested to him to try other social networking website if he doesn't like the new layout (just like what he did when he shifted from Google to Bing just because he didn't like Google's new hover menu layout). Well, I received no response meaning that eventhough he didn't like the layout, he has no choice but to stick with it especially as we have a mini high school reunion this February the 13th.


Th Review on the New Facebook Layout for 2010

Let me go back to the new Facebook layout, I think the new facebook layout has a slicker design removing that long spacey toolbar on the bottom screen and cutting it to just a short one that holds the chat menu bar and the notifications menu. The quick bookmarks section have been moved on the upper left most part of the sidebar which is a good idea to actually save screen space. Well over all I find it the new layout likeable and slick.

So there you have it two things new on the Social networking scene this February 2010. There will be a double celebration this coming February 14 as the world celebrates Valentines Day and the Chinese community will celebrate the Chinese New Year, but that is a completely different blog entry.

Acobay: A New Social Network Where Sharing Is Everything

I've stumbled upon this new promising social networking website called Acobay where sharing means everything.

Trying out Acobay myself I find it interesting because it provides a more interactive community where people can talk about their interests rather than just merely adding each other up. It is a more interest oriented social networking site where you add "stuff" which can be anything of your interest and review it for online people to see it and probably have a discussion with the people who have the same "stuff" as you do. Friendster is Down: Other Social Networking Sites Are Now Up in the Philippines

It is without a doubt that social networking websites have shown growth and gain exponential population in the web 2.0 cyberspace. There are various of social networking websites and one which is I am talking about is very much popular in my country (and the one that I am mainly using) is Friendster (http://friendster.com).



After that serious attempt to make a serious opening statement (which I hope mattered in any way), I will now go to what this post is really about friendster going down.

Friendster gone down? Yup, it happened also in the past but not this long. Friendster usually takes only a day or less than a day when undergoing maintenance but not this long. Basically, If my calculations are correct (Oh, Goodies! I can count), it has almost been three days of downtime for Friendster which may cause their local members (which includes me, and I don't know a couple of thousands of people in the net [worldwide]!!!) to shift and try other social networking sites such as Myspace (http://myspace.com), Facebook (http://facebook.com), Tagged (http://tagged.com), Orkut (http://orkut.com), and many more (actually that is all I know). For a very social and open (to the public) person such as myself, friendster is a great way to communicate with friends and meet new ones in the process (besides spammers, stalkers, and other activity buddies whom I will no longer elaborate). But what has happened to friendster this three days may cost them their followers to try... (...wait a minute this statement looks familiar?). I for once have observe this myself, as most of my online and real friends have gone back or tried Facebook.

Facebook (http://facebook.com) is more user and browser friendly social networking site with more entertaining applications against its other counterparts. This is (maybe) what makes it appealing. The only drawback (which I don't think a drawback at all but let's use this for the majority of Social Networking people) in using facebook is that you can't customized your profile using CSS or pimp it out (making bling bling and flash-based non-sense applications to appear). Even if this is the case, the bottom line and the question is What happened to friendster?.

Some online speculation says that there is a major breach in the social network's system or basically it's been hacked!. Another is that Friendster is undergoing some major updates which I hope is true and makes all up with sense with all this unavailability issues and social networking hassles... or social people can just go find better alternatives, right?
