Day One Recollection of The First LetsGoSago Anniversary Surfing Clinic in La Union: Part Three "A Lunch at HaloHalo de Iloko"

Last August 15-16, 2009 (Saturday to Sunday) yours truly attended the first anniversary of Jonel Uy's LetsGoSago in San Juan Surf Resort in La Union. This is Part three of five of day one, a Lunch in HaloHalo de Iloko.

After learning, enjoying, and burning my skin on the surfing lessons earlier I retire to our room to find the group of Fitz there. Their room wasn't available that time so Jonel let them stay first at our room while they wait for the previous tenants to vacate the next room. To my luck, they were also planning to have lunch outside San Juan Beach Resort, so after that I ask them if I could join them and they welcomed me. I also got the chance to have new acquaintances and new blog friends.

We rode a jeepney to the city and rode take another ride via tricycle to Halo-halo de Iloko, which is just a couple of walks away from were we rode the tricycle. So after that we finally arrived at the destination, HaloHalo de Iloko..

Halo-Halo de Iloko looks like a seemingly simple house at first glance but in fact it is (what? hahaha). I mean it houses one of La Union's best dishes.

After some photo-op outside the oversized logo of Halo-Halo de Iloko outside. We finally entered the restaurant. On the photo(From Left To Right): Pats, DJ, Don, Me, Fitz and Rina behind the Camera

Once we entered the HaloHalo de Iloko, we were welcomed by a very warm, welcoming, and traditional dining environment. The tables and chairs were maid of bamboo which ate a large amount of space inside the narrow restaurant but that is what makes it unique. It feels like you are just eating at a friend's house. We found Qtube taping one of their episode in HaloHalo de Iloko with Jonel Uy. We browse the menu and decided that we should all just need to order one bulk order for the whole group to dig in. and that is what we did.

While waiting for our meal to be prepared, I decided to take another photo op. This is me, Chris A. inside HaloHalo de Iloko

After a while, the drinks and dishes got served and here they were:

And of course what I have been looking and waiting for in Halohalo de Iloko, the Fiesta Halo-halo in HaloHalo de Iloko

A super-sized serving of Halo-Halo from HaloHalo de Iloko. It is not called "Fiesta Halo-Halo for nothing.

Yup, that is the actual size of the Fiesta Halo-Halo serving in Halo-Halo de Iloko. It has this unique taste which I haven't tasted before in the Halo-halos in the Metro or in our hometown. Probably it is because of the Ice Cream, Panutsa, and some secret ingredient.

I would like to thank Daryl, Fitz, Rina, Pats, and Don for the great time we had at HaloHalo de Iloko. Hope to dine and chat with them again anytime in the future.

Stop Playing With Yourself - The XBX Interactive Opening

February 4, 2009 (Wednesday) - Yes, I've posted this coverage "a bit" late but it is still February, right? (Excuses!). Oh well, got invited by for the opening of this New Social Gaming Station at Kamuning, Quezon City... The XBX Interactive.

XBX Interactive Grand Opening

Like any other Wednesday it is our "Laundry Day" and the day before that I was asking around my blog friends on how can I get to Katipunan. It is another adventure for me because I've never been in that part of the Metro...again. I've asked Aerin of Pinay Ads for directions and she responded with a very accurate and detailed direction. a lot of thanks to her. Good thing that Jonel of Digital Manila or most popularly known for his Let's Go Sago is going to the event as well, at least if I get loss, I will not be alone hahaha. So here again is my short segment dedicated to the travelers out there who haven not and wanted to travel around the Metro:

A Dasmarineños Route To The Metro

Dasmariñas, Cavite to Katipunan, Quezon City
Take the usual bus to Pasay MRT/LRT route from the Dasmariñas Town Proper or at the Petron Gas Station and drop off at the MRT 3 at Pasay City. Get a train ticket going to Araneta Center - Cubao Station. Dropping off at Cubao Station, take the walkway from the station to Araneta Coliseum and through New Farmer's Plaza. Ask for the Araneta Center-Cubao LRT 2 Station and take another train ride from that station now going to Katipunan. And Voila, you're at Katipunan... (I like the looks and the feel of the LRT 2 Station. Hard to believe that "that well-kept" transportation facility and station is funded/subsidized by the government)

- End of the Route To the Metro -

Me and Jonel first met at around the new Farmer's Plaza and took the train. After dropping off at Katipunan Station we walked and looked for the Mini Stop Store to take a tricycle going to Burgundy Place (Between Intermatrix and Robinsons Bank)

We arrived at around 3:30 and entered the venue. Tom entertained and told us everything there is to know about the XBX Interactive. For a more comprehensive look on what XBX Interactive has to offer for gamers and friends you can visit their website here:
