Filipino music has taken a step back and has steadily decline over the past few years (if not decades) and this is because of a number of reasons. Rather than pondering on what almost destroyed it, let's look forward at what will build it anew. Hopefully the Philippine Popular Music Festival will become a consistent annual music event like what the Metro Manila Popular Music Festival (Metropop) has established before it. An annual event that will help rejuvenate the Philippine music industry by ushering in new all original Filipino music by creative and Filipino artists (Filipino composers and singers alike).

Eat Bulaga's All for Juan, Juan for All Sugod Bahay Gang December 17, 2011 Willie Revillame Laugh Out Loud Moment: EB Dabarkads Turned One Slip Up Into a Genuinely Funny Moment

An Episode of Eat Bulaga's All for Juan Juan for All aired last December 17, 2011 made a lot of Filipino televiewers laugh their hearts out when a chosen Sugod Bahay Gang winner made a slip up in pronouncing Wally's name to Willie (Revillame) which became a very entertaining moment for the next ten minutes or so.

Jose Manalo Pokes fun at Willie Revillame in Eat Bulaga's Juan for All All for Juan Sugod Bahay Gang last December 17 2011

Eat Bulaga has always been the undisputed noontime show here in the Philippines, but that does not mean that there won't be a any competition for it. This is when the competing network (ABS CBN Kapamilya) made a series of noontime shows (defunct today) to compete with it. The closest of these shows that would actually proved to be a somewhat decent competition was Wowowee which eventually was cancelled because of a misunderstanding of the Kapamilya Network and Willie Revillame. Willie Revillame now found a new home in TV 5 Kapatid Network with first Willing Willie which also got cancelled because of a child abuse case/incident, but later reformatted to Wiltime Bigtime. Somehow the wounds of the past were "somehow" healed between the hosts of Eat Bulaga and Noontime shows featuring Revillame. The most controversial is probably humorous but mostly below the belt hits between Joey de Leon and Willie Revillame. Now being under the TV 5 Kapatid Network, the celebrities from Eat Bulaga and Willie Revillame shows share the same audience every day but not in a competitive way. As I make this post, Wiltime Bigtime is scheduled from Mondays to Saturdays at around 6pm, The Jose and Wally Show featuring Vic Sotto comes after Wiltime Bigtime every Satuday night, and Wow Mali is every Sunday Night. It was also became a news when Willie and Joey eventually became "friends" but to whether this is the real deal or something superficial is left to one's imagination.

No one network has a monopoly over the Filipino viewing audience and this is healthy, if not normal. Dealing with the everyday Filipino mass is what noontime shows do and they usually anticipate slip ups from contestants. There have been incidents where contestants from Wowowee thanked Eat Bulaga or the Kapuso Network rather than their show or network, and vice versa. So when slip ups like this happen, it is up to the hosts of the shows to turn the table around, most of the time it is a very awkward, but the EB Dabarkads made it to something hilarious last Saturday, December 17. Having shows on TV5 may also helped with the easing of the very awkward moment. Jose Manalo imitated Willie Revillame down to his very irritating negative attitude, his arrogance. On a similar note, because of this slip up, the Sugod-Bahay Gang winner only received a smaller price because of this slip up. Yes, the sum given to the winner was probably reduced because of this as noticed in Jose's statement when you watch the video as he stated that the money supposed to be awarded should be forty thousand pesos - "Forty thousand dapat yan eh". I have also noticed this on past Juan for All All for Juan Sugod Bahay Gang Episodes. The amount they gave usually plays around the thirty thousand to as high as fifty thousand peso range, depending on the likability and financial status of the winner of the day. I don't think this is a nice move from Eat Bulaga's part, this make them appear a little bitter of the said slip up. But hey they are the one's giving the prices, so the winner shouldn't really complain much on it. They also managed to mentioned Willie Revillame and his segments in the past which transcends the Network Wars, I guess they will probably get a memo for doing this thing, or not. The Youtube video is receiving mostly positive hits, so that has to account to something, right?

Watch Jose Manalo imitated Willie Revillame in Sugod-Bahay Gang Juan for All All for Juan Dec 17, 2011 Episode here:

By now you might have noticed that I am not a fan of Willie Revillame. The annoying thing is that people in our house watch the said show which sometimes also forces me to watch it. Being an everyday Filipino televiewer, I am (in a shallow way) thankful for those Wiltime Bigtime dancers performing in skimpy and sexy outfit. It makes watching the said sow a little less of a task than a natural thing. This made me excited to see Wiltime Bigtime episode on that day which was not normal. I like intrigues and exchanges of Joey and Willie in the past, sothis is probably the main reason why I am looking forward for it. Well in some way, Willie managed to react to this in a very unconvincing and pretentious way. Sorry fans of Willie Revillame, in my opinion, I just don't find him that sincere of a person.

Watch Willie Revillame in Wiltime Bigtime react to Jose Manalo immitation and Eat Bulaga Poking fun of him in All for Juan, Juan for All December 17, 2011 Sugod Bahay Gang Episode

This is probably one of the best Eat Bulaga episode for me this year. Thanks to those industrious Pinoy Youtube Users who managed to capture and upload this genuinely funny moment from Eat Bulaga. What about you guys? What can you say about the Eat Bulaga December 17 2011 All for Juan Juan for All Sugod-Bahay Gang Episode? on Willtime Bigtime's Reaction to it? TV5 Trade Launch - Revolutionizing Philippine Television for the "Bagong Pinoy"

March 25, 2010 (Thursdayday) - marked the celebration and relaunch of the now considered "chain breaker" and a new key player to break the Philippine television industry's duopoly, TV5 (formerly ABC 5) the TV5 Trade Launch at World Trade Center. Luckily yours truly was able to witness this monumental relaunch and breakthrough in the Philippine television scene and where it all starts...

TV5 Trade Launch at World Trade Center Philippines

The TV 5 Trade Launch event is the second major television related event that I have attended, and the second time I have entered the majestic World Trade Center in Metro Manila. I left Dasmariñas City (Cavite) at around 4:00 in the afternoon and arrived at around 5:20 in the afternoon which was once again so early. On how it looked that time I could feel that it was going to be a BIG which was later confirmed as local celebrities started appearing group after group to celebrate TV 6's momentous relaunch. I managed to took some snapshots around before the actual event even start...

Well sadly my two year-old camera is a bit busted (probably from all the beating it experienced in the past, whut?!?) so I wasn't able to capture much of the event but I still managed and found a way to get some.

TV5 Trade Launch at World Trade Center Philippines

I took the chance to take a photo together with one of the TV5's news anchor, Jove Francisco.

We were first entertained by some interesting production numbers as everyone waits for the main event. Eventually the show started at around 8:30 in the in the evening with Paolo Bediones and Ryan Agoncillo hosting the TV5 Trade Launch. TV5's new shows have been improved and targeted for the new generation Filipino television viewers or the "Bagong Pinoy". Tired of the the same repetitive and boring television program block? Then switch to TV5 as they will break away from the boring television norms, something which is to be blamed with the duopoly of the two Philippine Television Corporations.

The hosts introduced a Sponge Bob mascot to introduce the TV5 Kids block which features famous Nickelodeon shows and Japanese Animations. Animega (TV5's afternoon to primetime block) has already featured great series and which will feature more animated series which are specially targeted to the Bagong Pinoy anime enthusiasts. Some of the anime shows which will run on TV5's Animega are Clannad and Inuyasha, which will join the already running anime series Tora Dora, Haruhi Suzumiya, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. The biggest news tis that TV5 will be the new home of the classic and popular kid's show Batibot.

Juicy's Alex Gonzaga and IC Mendoza, together with Amy Perez of Face to Face introduced the new afternoon block offered by the new and improved TV5.

Cookie Chua, Jet Pangan and Luke Mijares serenaded the audience with themes songs from the Korean series which will be broadcasted locally (dubbed) at TV5's Gusto Ko Noon. My Wife is a Superwoman, Smile Honey, First Wives Club and High Kick are some of these Korean imports which will are included at the Gusto Ko Noon block.

TV5 Trade Launch at World Trade Center Philippines

The TV5 news and public affairs also has new faces and new competitive new block now that Erwin Tulfo, Sheryl Cosim, and Luchi Cruz Valdez joins the original TV5 news team of Martin Andanar, Jove Francisco, Amelyn Veloso, and Cheri Mercado. Paolo Bediones also joins them with U.S.I. or Under Special Investigation which features interviews and various challenges to some of Philippine's public and prominent figures. Maverick and Ariel comes back to TV5 with their Totoo TV, Chris Tiu with Ako Mismo, Sapul, a new morning show for TV5, and Lupet the Discovery Series are some of the promising new shows which will compete with the big guns of news and public affairs on Philippine Television.

The three Princes of TV5: Oyo Boy Sotto, JC de Vera, and John Pratts.

TV5 Trade Launch at World Trade Center Philippines

Tuesday Vargas went out of the stage just when everyone thought that The Diamond Star will be the one coming out. Well, the great thing about it is that Tuesday gave a very entertaining performance and introduction to Ms. Maricel Soriano. She gave a great Tribute for she herself being a big Maricel Soriano fan.

TV5 Trade Launch at World Trade Center Philippines

Ms. Maricel Soriano finally arrived at the stage to promote her drama special in Bigtime Primetime's 5 Star Specials.

TV5 Trade Launch at World Trade Center Philippines

A Toyota Vios was given to a lucky audience who guessed the right amount of the car together with all of the miscellaneous objects placed inside the car. If I am not mistaking the overall amount was P1, 050 000.00. Sadly I came three hundred thousand short on my guess but maybe not my time (to have a car) yet.

TV5's Weekend Winners were next where performances from Lucy Torres together with her fellow hosts and celebrities of their new Sunday variety show P.O.5.

Ruffa Gutierez together with Dolly Carvajal and Cristy Fermin were on stage to promote Tv5's new showbiz program Paparazzi. When showbiz intrigues hosts are on stage then expect some bad blood, rumor starting and other controversial one liners.

TV5 Trade Launch at World Trade Center Philippines

The biggest surprise fro the night (and the most entertaining one) is when you see the three kings of Philippine comedy in one network. Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon and the Dolphy delivered a classic but still entertaining "Wala ka sa lolo ko" and "filipino to English translation" skit on stage. I found my self still laughing at their punchlines which could either mean I am so retro/corny or they still haven't lost their touch.

TV5 Trade Launch at World Trade Center Philippines

Pidol's Wonderland is the new Bigtime Primetime comedy sitcom of Dolphy on TV5, Joey de Leon will then have the House of Not comedy game show (if my guess is right) together with Wow Mali, and Vic Sotto still is on Who Wants To Be A Millionnaire.

TV5 Trade Launch at World Trade Center Philippines

After that Paolo Bediones and Ryan Agoncillo unveiled TV5's New Station ID "Para Sa'yo Kapatid". Watch this TV5 Trade Launch "Para sa'yo KAPATID" new TV5 New Station ID courtesy of The Blocker Online:

I have always wished that Philippine television companies could be more open to the public and gives more variety of shows. T.E.N. The Evening News was the first news program on TV5 who actually listened and shared the sentiments and views of the Filipinos through their online channels like Facebook. And now, TV5 will break the same old repetitive prtogramming block and duopoly of GMA and ABS CBN. There is a new player in town, TV5 with their mission to bring entertainment, news and education to the Bagong Pinoy.

TV5 LIVE Shake Mo TV Mo Caravan! - A Great Year Blog Event Starter for 2009

What date is it? Wooh! It's almost over a week since I last updated Life on a Pencil, I've been busy with my other blog CMAQUEST: An Infotainment and Magazine Blog (See it here: http://cmaquest.blogspot.com) and of course with my freelance writing job (reasons! reasons! reasons! hehehe). So let me tracked by the event that jump started all the upcoming events for 2009, the...(drum roll...) TV5 LIVE Shake Mo TV Mo Caravan!.

TV 5 Shake Mo TV Mo Live Caravan at Star City Pasay City

My day basically began when my mother woke me up at around 7 in the morning for the TV 5 Shake Mo TV Mo! Live Caravan event in Star City. I set it that time anticipating a two hour traffic from Dasmariñas Cavite to Pasay City. I was already on board a bus at around 8 am and started sending sms text messages to fellow blog friends going to event namely Azrael, Gab, Ada, and Carl, reminding them to be early because Az told us via his plurk that we should be at the event before 10 pm and so I did.

I arrived at around 9:05 in the morning with just a few people starting to populate the doors of the famous theme park. The event was set up near the open space (parking space) of Star City. The TV 5 Live Caravan was just finishing its last preparations to start the event. While waiting for the other bloggers I purchased a Taho(Soya drink) from a nearby vendor and roam around the area. At around 10:40 am the two Marks (Mark of NextJam and Mark of Heer0san ) arrived and finally accompany me in. I managed to talked to Ms. Judy (as I were told by the admin people) to talk about how to get in. Well, basically I just said we are bloggers and they immediately gave us the three tickets. At around 11:30 Azrael of Azrael's Merryland with Lace of Style and Relax joined the three of us.

Chris A. punching

Once inside we started trying out various games for small prizes. I tried out this punching game "thingy" (Don't know how to call it) and won five sachets of Extra Joss energy juice drink (one of the major sponsors of the event) upon hitting the "weakling" mark hehehe.
